وصف المقرر
This course will synthesize pharmacological concepts including an overview of the history of drugs along with current issues. Pharmacotherapeutics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, contraindications and precautions for prototype drugs for multiple body systems will be discussed. Major emphasis will be placed on nursing management practices as well as the nurse’s role in caring of patient undergoing pharmacological treatment

1. Identify the basic principles of pharmacology and its application in nursing practice
2. Differentiate between various types of drug groups
3. Understand the essential information concerning different types of drugs, such as doses,
side effect and methods of administration.
4. Recognize the responsibility of the nurse in giving drugs through the therapeutic process.
5. Realize different types of drug therapy across the life span
6. Identify the essential principles in administration of medications.
7. Recognize drugs acting on common diseases / cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive problems
