It is one of the Colleges of Warith Al-anbiyaa University, with its three departments (Civil Engineering - Biomedical engineering- Engineering of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technologies), which is concerned with the preparation and training of students for various engineering professions and with high field efficiency.

The work of the medical engineer is related to many specialties, this allows him a wide field of jobs opportunities as his work is based on dealing with doctors and nurses of many specialties, where we find it in the companies which are usually manufacturing medical devices, equipment and places of maintenance, as well as we find it in hospitals and medical clinics in a vital framework where a staff of doctors and nurses.

The future of the medical engineer holds a lot of creativity and innovation, in light of the modern technological development and the discovery of the emergence of new diseases, often there is a solution by the medical engineer, he /she is the mind to invent new devices to solve the problems and complexities facing the world of doctors in a faster, better and efficient ways. Therefore, we can describe the medical engineer as a vital complement to the doctor, the skill of the doctor is not complete without the presence of the mind of an innovative creative engineer on the tools, devices, systems and medical institutions.

 

Biomedical Engineering Department : 

 

The Biomedical Engineering Department is concerning the study of the science that specializes of the human body from an engineering point of view, as it is considered a link between the science of medicine and engineering sciences.

Biomedical engineering is one of the latest engineering sciences that arose with the development of modern medicine, and this department was established at Warith Al-anbiyaa University in 2017 and attracted an elite group of teachers and students. The work of the medical engineer is related to many specialties, and this allows him/her a wide field of job opportunities, as his profession is based on dealing with doctors and nurses of many specialties, where you find it in companies manufacturing medical devices and equipment and their maintenance places, as well as in hospitals and medical clinics in a vital framework with a staff of doctors and nurses.

The future of the medical engineer holds a lot of creativity and innovation, in light of the modern technological development and the discovery of the emergence of new diseases, the solution is often found by the medical engineer, who is the mind to create new devices in a way to solve the problems and complexities facing the world of doctors in a faster, better and efficient way. Therefore, we can describe the medical engineer as a vital supplement to the doctor, so the doctor's skill is not complete without the presence of the mind of a creative engineer innovator on the tools, devices, systems and institutions.

Warith Al-Anbiyaa University always eager to train the students of the Biomedical Engineering Department from the first stage. Where the students were trained during the summer vacation at Imam Zain Al-Abidine Hospital on various medical devices and the students of the second stage will be trained in the Prosthetics Center of Al-Husseiniya Holy Shrine. Whereas the rest of the stages will be trained in the institutions which are belong to  Al-Husseiniya shrine and thus Warith Al-Anbiyaa would be the only university in Iraq that adopts the training of its students from the first stage to graduation in the belief of their graduated students are practically and theoretically competent and prepared enough to enter that environment and labor market.

Biomedical engineering is defined as the science that includes knowledge of the basic and the engineering sciences such as (physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, electricity, electronics and mechanics) and the applied knowledge associated with these sciences in addition to medical and biological sciences.

 

The specialization of Biomedical engineering is one of the latest engineering branch ever and the emergence of this type of engineering is due to the great development in recent times in the field of medicine, which depends mainly on modern and highly advanced medical devices, which necessitated the intervention of engineering sciences, thus forming a link between engineering and medicine to serve the health of patients and accelerate their recovery, God willing.

 

The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the main departments of the Engineering College at Warith Al-Anbiyaa University, and that the main goal of establishing Civil Engineering Department is to graduate engineering staff who possess knowledge in the field of construction and to build the country with solid bases by working on building the student scientifically and on firm scientific foundations that enable the graduate student keeping up to date with nowadays  developments and construction which are witnessed by the whole world to contribute effectively in building his/her country.

 

Four stages of study in the department must be successfully passed in order to complete the graduation requirements, where each stage consist of thirty academic weeks distributed over the days of the academic year through which the graduate student would be awarded a bachelor's degree after successfully passing all four academic stages.

 

 - Conducting thermal load calculations, selecting the appropriate system, studying the economic feasibility of various projects in the field of specialization

- Diagnosing malfunctions, supervising maintenance work, repairing various systems, separated and central air-conditioning units, food preservation stores of all kinds.

- Developing air-conditioning and freezing systems in line with climatic and environmental conditions to keep pace with technical development.

- Installing, operating and managing of the maintenance and repair complexes related to the specialization.

- Specialists participate in research conducting in the field of energy consumption awareness and finding alternatives in the field of the specialization.

 

 The Cooling and air conditioning fields are considered to be the fields of continuous prosperity in the world, especially in developing countries, where there is often no industrial nor scientific field that does not depend in any way on Cooling and air conditioning science, and we think that this field is particularly difficult as it combines with it mechanical and electrical sciences with its branches. The worker in this field needs to have a relatively large amount of basic information in various fields.

 

 The Cooling and Air-Conditioning Techniques of Engineering Department is characterized by an academic and technical character. The department accepts high school graduates with its scientific branches and for both morning and evening studies. Along with the institutes graduates with specializations (machinery and equipment, mechanical techniques, production, operation and maintenance, pumps and agricultural machinery). As well as graduates of industry preparatory schools and for the same specialization.

 

The study duration in this department lasts for (4 years) and the graduate is then awarded a bachelor's degree in Air-Conditioning and Cooling technologies (technical engineer). The department seeks to provide its educational services using scientific methods and modern technology and its curricula are in line with the latest global developments and their applications. The department specializes in preparing specialized staff in the fields of heating and cooling as well as in renewable / regenerated energy and power stations.

The mission of the College lies in educating and preparing the specialists of the engineers who can occupy various positions in the government (public sector) and the private sector. At the same time preparing them as good citizens who believe in human and moral values and are aware of their responsibility towards their religion, nation and community.
