The College of Media at University of Warith Al-Anbiya organizes a scientific visit to Al-Sibtain Academy for Autism

The College of Media at University of Warith Al-Anbiya organized a field trip for its students to Al-Sibtain Academy for Autism and Developmental Disorders, affiliated with the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein. This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to learn about the academy's operations and the care and rehabilitation programs offered to children with developmental disorders. It also allowed them to experience a specialized environment that represents one of the most prominent health and educational projects of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein. The academy is considered a leading project in Iraq, dedicated to receiving and preparing individuals with autism and developmental disorders for integration into society using the latest internationally recognized scientific methods. The college administration indicated that the visit was not merely introductory, but also provided significant training for media students, particularly in addressing humanitarian issues with professional and balanced approaches, avoiding sensationalism or superficiality. The administration added that the visit allowed students to understand the relationship between media and specialized institutions, and that media coverage of such centers is not limited to reporting the news, but requires an awareness of the health, educational, psychological, and social contexts. This gives students deeper experience in crafting media messages that combine information, empathy, and professional responsibility. The most important objective of this visit is to prepare media students to be more capable of producing informed and humane journalistic content that understands the needs of society.
