The University of Warith Al-Anbyiaa, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, has achieved an unprecedented historic academic and scientific milestone by becoming the first university in Iraq to enter the Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.

The results of the 2026 Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) have announced the University of Warith Al-Anbyiaa’s first-ever entry into this prestigious global ranking, in Energy Science & Engineering, where it achieved a global ranking of 301–400.

The University’s appearance in this global ranking marks a significant turning point in its academic and research journey. Through this achievement, the University moves from aspiration to an established presence on the global higher education rankings landscape, placing its name alongside established universities and academic institutions from around the world.
