Vision

The College of Engineering aspires to be distinguished and a pioneer in the field of teaching, scientific research, development and community service by graduating engineers working to serve the country as well as upgrading the level of performance and quality to raise the levels of existing activities and services and advance the country's scientific reality. As well as aspiring to excellence internationally with the quality of its innovative scientific research, graduates and strategic partnerships to be a distinguished college in education and community partnership.

Mission

The mission of the college lies in educating and preparing specialists from engineers who can assume various positions in the state and the private sector and at the same time prepare them as good citizens who believe in human and moral values and are aware of their responsibility towards their religion, their homeland and their people.

  • Excellence in teaching and learning, scientific research and innovation, and community service, by promoting the principles of scientific analysis and creative thinking in a stimulating academic environment, participating in the production, development and dissemination of knowledge, and interacting with the local and international communities
  • The university's work to qualify graduates who are able to compete, by providing education that is consistent with international standards, in an academic research environment with distinguished human resources, effective community partnership, and a supportive administrative system.

Objectives

1) Preparing and training students for various engineering professions by emphasizing familiarity with engineering principles in the field of specialization and in a way that qualifies the graduate to absorb technical problems and contribute to the development of scientific solutions to them.

2) Encouraging and motivating students to acquire knowledge through study and research and developing students' ability to think independently, self-confidence, self-learning and follow-up scientific sources.

3) Providing the student with the principles of management, economics and selected humanities to complete his qualification to occupy his leadership position in society.

4) Conducting and publishing academic and applied research to enrich knowledge in the engineering field and solve engineering problems in government and private companies.

5) Commitment to quality standards in higher education institutions and work to achieve academic accreditation standards.

6) Marriage between education and application in the various programs of the college to find a distinguished graduate in thought and application capable of meeting the actual needs in society and developing the spirit of leadership and confidence in college graduates.

7) Providing the labor market with the needs of qualified specialized scientific cadres that contribute to the implementation of plans for scientific, technical and civilized advancement and development .

8) Contribute with public education institutions in achieving the strategy of higher education and scientific research in Iraq and provide study opportunities for all students who have a preparatory certificate.

9) Providing rehabilitation, training, continuing education, studies and technical consultations to public and private institutions.

Establishing scientific laboratories that carry out scientific and applied research and encouraging researchers and urging them to participate students in research environments.

10) Developing approved educational programs, keeping pace with developments in the curriculum, and benefiting from international experiences in the corresponding disciplines in line with the requirements of the labor market.

11) Contribute to supporting scientific production, means and methods of education, and encourage workers in the field of scientific and technical research and authorship.

12) Placing the student in an integrated rehabilitation environment that allows him to have a balanced personality scientifically, socially, psychologically.

13)  Developing the student's communication skills to be able to communicate his ideas to others, and to understand their point of view and interact positively with it.

14) Activating academic guidance and guidance in the interest of the student and achieving the best possible scientific levels.

15) Establishing cultural and scientific memorandums of understanding with local, Arab and foreign universities that help exchange scientific experiences and contribute to the completion of joint research and studies.
