The new departments aim to broaden students' horizons and empower them to gain profound experience in vital engineering areas. College Departments:

*Civil Engineering Department:

The Civil Engineering department is a central hub for developing the engineering expertise needed for designing and managing the infrastructure of civil projects. The department includes a range of academic programs covering comprehensive civil engineering fields and concepts.

*Biomedical Engineering Department:

The Biomedical Engineering department at our university is an advanced field that integrates engineering concepts with life sciences to develop and improve technology used in medical and health fields. The department addresses a variety of topics focusing on the application of engineering in understanding and enhancing biological processes and providing solutions to modern medical challenges.

*Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering Department:

The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering department at our university is a vital center for education, research, and development of advanced technologies in the field of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The department aims to train students to understand and apply the principles of refrigeration and air conditioning in various industries and applications.

Newly Established Departments for the Academic Year 2023-2024:

*Aircraft Engineering Department:

The Aircraft Engineering department, newly established this year at our university, serves as a specialized center for training students in understanding and applying the principles of aviation engineering and the design and maintenance of aircraft. The department enables

students to acquire the technical and scientific skills necessary to work in the advanced aviation industry.

*Petroleum and Gas Engineering Department:

The Petroleum and Gas Engineering department is a vital new department that focuses on training students to understand and apply advanced technologies in the extraction, production, and processing of natural resources for the oil and gas industry.

The College of Engineering aspires and looking forward to be distinguished and a leader in the field of teaching, scientific research, developing  and serving the community by graduating engineers working to serve the country as well as upgrading the level of performance and quality to raise the levels of existing activities and services to promote the scientific reality of the country. As well as looking forward to be internationally distinguished with the quality of its innovative scientific research, graduates and strategic partnerships to be a distinguished College in education and community partnership.

The mission of the College lies in educating and preparing the specialists of the engineers who can occupy various positions in the government (public sector) and the private sector. At the same time preparing them as good citizens who

believe in human and moral values and are aware of their responsibility towards their religion, nation and community.

- The excellence in teaching and learning, scientific research and innovation, and community service, by promoting the principles of scientific analysis and creative thinking in a stimulating academic environment, participating in the production, development and distributing knowledge, and interacting with the local and international communities.

- Contribute with public education institutions in achieving the strategy of higher education and scientific research in Iraq and provide study opportunities for all high school diploma graduates students .

- Providing rehabilitation, training, continuous education, studies and technical consultations to public and private institutions.

- Establishing scientific laboratories that carry out scientific and applied guided research, and encouraging researchers to motivate students to participate in research environments.

- Develop certified educational programs and convoy the existing developments in the curriculum and benefit from similar international experiences in line with the requirements of the labor market.

- Contribute to support the scientific production and the educational means and methods, and encourage researchers in the field of scientific and technical research.

- Placing the students in an integrated rehabilitation environment that allows them to possess a scientific, social, and psychological balanced personality.

- Develop the students’ communication skills to be able to communicate their ideas to others, comprehend their point of view and interact positively with it.

- Activating academic guidance in order to achieve the interest of the students and achieve the best possible scientific levels.

- Establishing cultural and scientific memorandums of understanding with local, Arab and foreign universities that help to exchange scientific experiences and contribute to the achievement of joint research and studies.
