The strategic plan of the College of Medicine at Warith Al-Anbiya University (peace be upon him) aims to achieve a comprehensive vision to provide integrated and innovative medical education, prepare qualified medical cadres that meet the health needs of society, and contribute to the development of the medical field in Iraq. The strategic plan is based on several main axes that guide the college’s operations and contribute to achieving its long-term goals, through a combination of distinguished academic education, advanced scientific research, and community service.

The College of Medicine aspires to be a leading educational institution in Iraq and the region, distinguished in preparing doctors with high professional and ethical competence, capable of dealing with contemporary health challenges, and contributing to promoting public health and serving the community with a spirit of dedication and responsibility.

Strategic Axes 1. Development of academic and educational programs

  • Updating curricula: Working to align curricula with global developments in medical education, taking into account the needs of the local community, and providing study materials that are in line with academic quality standards.
  • Use of modern educational technologies: Employing digital technologies and interactive educational platforms to improve the learning experience and support students with the tools needed to understand complex subjects.

2. Developing scientific research

  • Establish specialized research centers: Support scientific research by establishing specialized medical research centers that focus on common health issues in Iraqi society.
  • Supporting faculty and students: Providing financial and technical support to encourage students and faculty members to participate in scientific research and contribute to international medical conferences.
  • Cooperation with research institutions: Expanding the scope of cooperation with national and international research institutions to exchange experiences and ideas, and participate in joint research projects.

3. Promoting ethical and professional values.

  • Inculcating human values: Focusing on teaching students the values ​​of integrity, loyalty, and responsibility derived from the biography of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), so that the doctor is able to provide health care with loyalty and honesty.
  • Preparing doctors with high professional ethics: qualifying students to deal professionally with patients, and developing their skills in human interaction, listening, and interacting with patients’ needs.

4. Serving the community and interacting with its health needs

  • Health Awareness: Launching awareness and educational programs to enhance health awareness in the local community about preventing common diseases.
  • Free Medical Care: Organizing mobile medical teams in cooperation with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain and the Ministry of Health, to provide free medical care to remote areas and needy communities.
  • Continuous training for doctors working in rural areas: Providing training courses for doctors working in rural areas to enhance their medical skills and capabilities.

5. Development of infrastructure and resources

  • Updating facilities and laboratories: Equipping laboratories and classrooms with the latest technologies and tools, to support educational and research activities.
  • Enhancing digital systems: Building an integrated digital infrastructure that includes electronic systems for managing attendance, lessons and lectures, facilitating students’ interaction with educational materials.
  • Providing an integrated library: Establishing a scientific library containing advanced and updated medical sources, including books, periodicals, and electronic references.

Evaluation and follow-up

The stages of the strategic plan will be evaluated periodically to ensure that the planned objectives are achieved, through specialized committees that monitor the progress of work, evaluate performance, and submit periodic reports of the necessary recommendations to ensure that the plan is achieved in the best possible way.
