On the evening of Thursday, January 30, 2025, the College of Medicine received very sad news: three female students from the college were involved in a hit-and-run accident by a car driver in the city of Karbala. The accident led to the death of student Zahra Talib Karim due to the severe trauma she sustained, while students Amani Kazem Mahous and Suhair Kazem Mahous were transferred to the hospital for medical treatment.
This tragic event had a profound impact on the College’s administration, its teaching and administrative staff, and students, who immediately rushed to follow up on the injured students in the hospital. The body of the late Zahra was transported to her family’s residence, accompanied by a large delegation from the administration, faculty members, and students, where they expressed their condolences and deep sorrow for this great loss.
It is worth mentioning that the College administration and students organized a moment of mourning and tribute to the soul of the departed, with a memorial service held at the College of Medicine. The ceremony was attended by the Dean, the Academic Assistant, the Administrative Assistant, respected faculty members, and dear students. Verses from the Holy Quran and Surah Al-Fatiha were recited for her pure soul, with prayers for Allah’s mercy on her and for patience and solace for her family. Prayers were also offered for the swift recovery of students Amani and Suhair.
This gathering reflected the deep humanity and strong bond among all members of the University of Warith Al-Anbiya, especially within the College of Medicine.
Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.
