In line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the College of Engineering at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa, in cooperation with the Science and Technology Parks Department, organised an awareness seminar addressing the growing risks of drug abuse and its health, social, and legal consequences.
The seminar reviewed the physical and psychological effects of addiction on individuals, underscoring the importance of strengthening prevention and treatment efforts in accordance with Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being). It also discussed how drug abuse weakens social cohesion and contributes to rising crime rates, highlighting the need to support institutional efforts to meet the requirements of Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).
Speakers addressed the legal frameworks and procedures adopted to combat drug trafficking and manage cases of addiction, emphasising the importance of strengthening cooperation between universities and governmental and security institutions, in line with Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
This seminar reflects the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa’s commitment to promoting community awareness and supporting national efforts aimed at reducing the spread of drug abuse and protecting young people from its dangers.
