University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa Advances 142 Places in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Sustainability Ranking

The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa has achieved a significant advancement in the 2025 UI GreenMetric World University Ranking for Sustainability, rising 142 places compared with the previous year to reach 293rd globally, up from 435th. This accomplishment reflects the University’s improved performance in environmental sustainability indicators, resource management efficiency, and the development of green infrastructure across the campus.

At the national level, the University ranked ninth among 87 Iraqi public and private universities, and fourth among private universities, underscoring its leadership in adopting environmentally responsible policies and integrating sustainability into its academic programmes.

This progress aligns with the University’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals. Measures to enhance energy systems, water and waste management, and the expansion of green spaces have contributed to Goal 4: Quality Education through embedding sustainability within academic curricula; supported Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy by improving energy efficiency; advanced infrastructure in line with Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; and contributed to climate protection efforts consistent with Goal 13: Climate Action.
