"Digital Violence and Cyber Extortion" Educational Seminar for University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa Students
University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa, through its Faculty of Law, hosted an educational seminar in partnership with the Federal Intelligence Agency's Technology and Informatics Department, the Media and Public Relations Department of the Karbala Police Directorate, and the Women for Justice Organization. The seminar focused on the critical issues of digital violence and cyber extortion.
During the event, participants were briefed on relevant Iraqi laws addressing these forms of digital threats, highlighting the university's active role in promoting legal awareness and contributing to the development of national strategies for combating cybercrime. Expert security officers provided valuable insights into protection mechanisms and preventive measures for social media users, particularly focusing on the risks faced by women. They also outlined the proper channels for contacting authorities in cases of extortion.
