2024/05/13Professor Dr. Basem Al-Saeedi, the president of the University of Karbala, was met by Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hayawi, the president of the university.
This visit was made in order to plan and discuss an international scientific event that Iraq will host in the holy city of Karbala. The event is being organised by the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH), the Universities of Karbala and Al-Kafeel, with support from the Holy Shrines of Abbas and Imam Hussein (PBUT), and Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Under the direction of the department's professors, the Deanship of the College of Engineering at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) organised a field trip for the freshmen in the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering to the Holy Najaf oil refinery.
The purpose of this visit was to acquaint the students with the engineering team that specialises in petroleum derivative separation.
Comprehensive talks on the methods and processes employed in the refinery's chemistry were delivered. Additionally, they had the chance to go on field trips within the refinery to observe firsthand how the various oil products are made from crude and gain an understanding of how the operations are carried out.
Students from the College of Science's Medical Physics department went on a scientific field trip to the Warith International Cancer Institute, hosted by the Deanship of the College of Science at Warith Al-Anbiyaa University (PBUH).
The purpose of this tour was to familiarise the Medical Physics Department students with the advanced radiation equipment that the institution offers, as well as to educate them on the real-world duties of a medical physicist student and the services that they can later render in therapeutic medical facilities.

In the presence of representatives from the University of Karbala, College of Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Department, the joint exam for the third and fifth stages of the department was held at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) College of Engineering, under the supervision and guidance of the College Deanship.
The University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) concluded its second national research competition by awarding prizes to the top researchers. The competition was sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and was overseen by the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH). In attendance were the Secretary General of the PBUH, Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abaiji, the Undersecretary of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abd Dahd, the University President, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hayawi, and several other scientific, academic, social, and religious figures.
In his speech to the audience Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abaiji, the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH), emphasised the Holy Shrine's support for this award as well as the need to pay attention to the scientific aspect by writing sound scientific research, which advances the nation and helps it overcome its problems, in accordance with the directives of His Eminence Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, the legal guardian of the Holy Shrine (may he ever be honoured).
Al-Abaiji continued, "Today, Karbala is distinguished not only by the scientific aspect but also by the health aspect, as evidenced by the construction of hospitals and health centres and the influx of foreign physicians who come to contribute their expertise in both science and practice."
The University President, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hayawi, emphasised to the audience during his speech that this award, the first of its kind in Iraq, was created to support researchers, "particularly young researchers, as they had a special focus on the award, which is the youth focus," and to motivate them to make an effort and contribute to solving societal problems. The advancement of the scientific and academic movements in our beloved nation is facilitated by scientific research, and we aim to maintain this competitiveness by providing the Holy Imam Hussein Shrine (PBUH) with funding that advances the mission of reliable educational institutions.
The College of Nursing at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) conducted a discussion for the senior's graduation research papers under the guidance and supervision of Professor Dr. Murtada Al-Jubouri, the College's Dean.

Under the patronage of the President of the University, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayawi, and in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Dr. Ali Abd Saadoun Al-Ghazi, the Deanship of the Faculty of Medicine, in cooperation with the “Warith Elevate” team and the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance, launched the project (Preparation and Selection of University Medical Ambassadors), which aims to represent the university and the country, whether locally or internationally.
Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Musallam, Medical Education Officer at the College of Medicine, announced that after conducting interviews with a number of college students according to pre-defined criteria, which include leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, in addition to the professional and academic aspects, a number of students were chosen to be university ambassadors.
The Medical Education Officer clarified that this project, which the university adopted to improve students' academic performance as well as their leadership, mission, and professional skills, is the first of its kind at the national and university levels.
During the coronation ceremony, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hayawi stressed the importance of the students’ interest in obtaining education, as they are future doctors who bear a great responsibility before society, in addition to the importance of the leadership and professional aspects of the doctor.
The College of Law at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) held a scientific seminar for its students titled "How a Lawyer Deals with the Execution Department," presented by Professor Osama Hudo.
The seminar included an explanation of provisions in the Execution Law No. (45) of 1980 as amended, including the procedures of the Execution Officer in seizing and selling the debtor's movable and immovable property, mechanisms for obtaining continuous alimony, and the rights of the wife and children. It also covered how to balance decision-making by the Execution Officer to ensure justice for both parties in the execution file, which is fundamental to the Execution Law.
The Biomedical Engineering Department of the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH) and the Biomedical Engineering Department of the University of Karbala had an expanded conference, overseen by Dr. Hussein Hadi Al-Awadi, the College Dean.
The purpose of this conference was to carry out the conditions of the earlier agreed-upon scientific agreement with the University of Karbala.

They were received by His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayawi, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Waqed Al-Moussawi, in addition to a number of deans and heads of scientific and administrative departments.
Ways of future cooperation and communication between the two universities were discussed during the visit, along with a number of potential scientific topics such as exchanging scientific expertise, organising scientific conferences and forums, scholarship programmes, and receiving teaching staff and students.
