A lecturer from our university, College of Nursing (Assistant Professor Dhafer Amin Jabbar Al-Moussawi) was selected as a member to discuss the doctoral student (Lara Rashid Darwish) at the College of Nursing - University of Sulaymaniyah on her thesis entitled (The effect of the educational psychological program on the severity of symptoms among depression patients in the city of Sulaymaniyah, Iraq) on Thursday, February 27, 2025. The quasi-experimental study aimed to investigate the effect of the educational psychological program on reducing the severity of symptoms among depression patients, as well as their knowledge and commitment to treatment. The study concluded the effectiveness of the educational psychological program in reducing the severity of symptoms in patients with diseases and raising their level of knowledge and commitment to treatment through the presence of statistically significant differences in the measures used among patients in the experimental group compared to the control group. The study recommended the necessity of integrating the educational psychological program into the treatment plan for depression patients by health institutions.
