With the presence of the university president, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Saeed Al-Hayawi, and several distinguished local and international scientific and academic figures, the College of Medicine at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa, in collaboration with the Iraqi Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Diseases/Middle Euphrates Branch and the British Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery, organised the "First Warith International Conference on Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery."
The conference brought together a distinguished group of doctors and specialists in cardiovascular and thoracic medicine from around the world, aiming to exchange knowledge and expertise on the latest innovations and techniques in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular and thoracic diseases. This initiative aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by promoting advancements in healthcare and improving treatment outcomes for cardiovascular and thoracic diseases.
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through fostering collaboration between international and local medical institutions, such as the Iraqi and British associations, to enhance global medical practices and research.
The conference programme includes scientific sessions, specialised workshops, and lectures presented by prominent doctors and scientists, contributing to the global effort to improve healthcare and achieve these critical SDGs.
