"From the holy land of Karbala to the world at large," the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (peace be upon him) is preparing to become the first center in Iraqi universities to administer the British IELTS exam in collaboration with the British institution "Unihouse," which is accredited to manage the exam and preparatory programs. This initiative is in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's directives and under the supervision of the Assistant Minister for Research Affairs, emphasizing the importance of adopting the British IELTS exam for postgraduate studies. The University is committed to providing high-quality education and enhancing students' language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in English.

Continuation of developmental and training programs for students and graduates of the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (peace be upon him) Warith Center for Leadership, Innovation, and Development (Warith Elevate) held a training workshop for students of the College of Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Department, titled "What is Biomedical Engineering?" The workshop was presented by Engineer Israa Fadel, who discussed biomedical engineering, its evolution, importance, and its role in the healthcare and industrial sectors. Biomedical engineering serves as the link between engineering and medical sciences by applying engineering principles and techniques in the medical field.

 The University President, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hayawi, received a delegation from the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, led by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Ameen Abdul Hassan Al-Alwani. This visit was conducted to discuss the ways and possibilities of scientific cooperation between the College of Medicine at the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (peace be upon him) and the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad in line with our university's vision and future aspirations to strengthen the educational process and benefit from the academic expertise that the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad possesses to train and prepare our students. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announces the launch of the free scholarship application for medical specializations. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the launch of the application for the free scholarship for medical specializations in universities and private colleges for the academic year 2024/2023. The application criteria specify that the student must be a graduate of the biological branch in the first or second round within the current academic year, with a minimum application and competitive GPA of 95% for general medicine and not less than 93% for dentistry and pharmacy. The application channel for the free scholarship will appear automatically on the main interface of the students' accounts. Students can register six choices in the form available through the electronic portal of the Private Higher Education Department.

In line with the university's commitment to holding regular meetings with its administrative and teaching staff to understand their needs and resolve their issues, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hayawi, the University President, and Dr. Nofel Al-Irja, met with the staff of the Follow-up Department, considering them as the primary interface for university visitors. The continuation of the training courses (the fifth session) held by the University of Warith Al-Anbiyaa (PBUH)/ the Rehabilitation and Employment Division within the government “Riyada” initiative.
These courses aim to support student and graduate projects, with the participation of trainers Safaa Al-Silawi and Fatima Al-Kasid. These courses are two weeks in length and are held monthly.

In preparation for qualifying and training students and graduates of the Biomedical Engineering Department and appointing them to the Warith Derman Center for Prosthetic Limbs of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, the team of the Warith Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Development visited the Warith Derman Center for Prosthetic Limbs and met with the Center’s assistant director, Engineer Haider Al-Qurain.
The two parties discussed ways of cooperation in the field of developing, qualifying and employing students and graduates of the Biomedical Engineering Department through holding workshops and training courses, in addition to supporting and stimulating innovation in the field of manufacturing prosthetic limbs.
It is noteworthy that the team of the Warith Center for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Development continues to visit and conclude cooperation agreements with a number of institutions affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and private companies as part of its programme to qualify, train and employ university students.

The results of continuous effort and dedication to scholarly excellence are bearing fruit. The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Wraith Al-Anbiyaa has obtained superior rankings compared to its counterparts in both governmental and private educational institutions.
 

Dr. Avnan Hussein Haya, a faculty member at the College of Human Medicine at the University of Wraith Al-Anbiyaa (peace be upon him), has obtained a patent for an ammonia (NH3) gas sensor. Dr. Avnan Hussein stated that this patent discusses the preparation method of highly ordered, multilayered, hydroxide-activated multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNTs-OH) networks, which are arranged as a mat on a filtration paper using the Filtration from Suspension (FFS) technique to function as an ammonia gas sensor. Gold and silver nanoparticles have been added to the network's surface to enhance its sensitivity to the gas.
The sensing device was locally manufactured and used to evaluate the network's response to ammonia gas at concentrations as low as parts per million, while observing changes in sensitivity with variations in ammonia gas concentration and temperature. The prepared network exhibited an increase in resistance when exposed to ammonia gas and showed good sensitivity to low concentrations of ammonia gas at room temperature. Furthermore, the results indicated that the network remained consistently sensitive to ammonia gas in the ambient environment, unaffected by the surrounding air's quantity.

The researcher and academic, Dr. Anmar Falah Dikan, from the University of Wraith Al-Anbiyaa, published a scientific research paper on behalf of the university at the 17th Annual International Conference on Asphalt, Pavement Engineering, and Infrastructure, held on 21st - 22nd February 2018, at Sensor City in Liverpool, UK. This conference is considered one of the most important annual conferences in the United Kingdom in the field of asphalt technology.
Dr. Dikan's research aims to develop an asphalt mixture using a new cementitious material composed of industrial by-products from the steel furnace slag powder and lime, a by-product of acetylene production. This innovative material was used as a substitute for traditional limestone filler. He added that these cold asphalt mixtures reduce environmental impact and energy consumption, making them a safer and more eco-friendly alternative for use, as there is no need for aggregate or asphalt heating during production or application of these mixtures.
 

The Continuous Education Center at the University of Wraith Al-Anbiyaa recently organized an enlightening workshop as part of its ongoing faculty development program. The workshop received rave reviews from the participants who praised the expertise of the speakers and the relevance of the information shared.

Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Munim Al-Shawk, Dr. Nasreen Jawad Kazim, and Dr. Sari Ghassan, medical students have commenced practical training courses at Saqr Hospital and Ras Al Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University.
Practical training for medical college students in Arab and international universities, as well as their affiliated hospitals, is considered a crucial aspect of preparing students for the medical field. Practical training is typically organized by placing students in hospitals, health centers, and scientific laboratories to gain practical experience in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.



 
 
 

A delegation from the University of Wraith Al-Anbiyaa (peace be upon him), led by the Scientific Assistant, Professor Dr. Waqad Al-Mousawi, and including Dr. Mohamed Jamal Al-Taif, the Head of the Department of Government Communication and Media, has signed several scientific agreements with Iranian universities. These universities include Al-Alamah Tabatabai University, Sharif University of Technology, Razi University, and Science and Industry University.
These agreements are part of the university's efforts to exchange academic and research experiences with Iranian universities that have achieved international rankings, such as the Shanghai ranking and others. The collaboration extends to student training and the establishment of a specialized medical research center.
